Before software,

Years working in the marine sector taught me to make decisions, solve practical problems and understand how operational systems work from the inside.

    The challenge

    Build a quotation system connected to inventory. A quotation needs to interact with products, customer information, pricing and business logic.

  2. 02

    Requirements

    Identify the customer, choose inventory products, enter quantities and prices, apply discounts and calculate totals. Define expected behaviour before implementation.

  3. 03

    Architecture

    Connect customers to quotations and quotations to line items. Reference inventory products while keeping quotation-specific quantities and prices in quotation items.

    Codex-assisted implementation

    Break the architecture into focused tasks: product selection, calculation logic, persistence and interface feedback. Use Codex to explore and implement changes; review the decisions and their integration.

    Testing

    Check totals with and without discounts, missing customer data and invalid quantities. Save and reopen the quotation. Reproduce failures, correct them and repeat the flow.

  6. 06

    Result

    The feature target is a quotation connected to the business system, rather than a standalone document. Readiness depends on validated calculations, persisted data and a usable end-to-end flow.
